(Latour-Marliac, c. 1922)
MMEJULIENCHIFFLOT
Large water lily.
Part of the quartet of rare, giant-flowered pre-war water lilies (the others are N. 'Marguerite Laplace', N. 'Souvenir de Jules Jacquier' and N. 'Tulipformis'), Madame Chifflot is one of the most sought after by collectors because of its beauty and rarity in the marketplace. Like the other aforementioned lilies, it is easy to grow, but is slow to reproduce, so it was not widely purchased by Latour-Marliac's wholesale nursery clients during the 20th century.
Plant one lily per 20L container at a depth of 40 to 80 cm to cover one square metre of surface.
