(Shaw, c. 1913)
EUGENIADELAND
Medium-sized water lily with pads from 12 to 15 cm in diameter, and 10 cm flowers.
Easy to grow. One of the most elegant pinks, the fiery stamens are a striking contrast to the delicate, rounded petals.
“Flowers 5 to 6 inches in diameter, star-shaped, with many petals of a deep rosy pink color; very fragrant. A vigorous grower and a desirable variety” (W.B. Shaw Aquatic Gardens 1921: 5). “Named for a Washington artist” (National Park Service 1940).
Plant one per 14 or 20 litre planting container at a depth of 20 to 60 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
