Large water lily.
This lily, named 'Glory of Le Temple sur Lot' after the village here, was a sensation when it was introduced in 1913. The few other ruffly doubles that exist today wouldn't come along for another 70 years. This variety is also one of a handful that send up both pure white and pure pink flowers.
Plant one lily per 20 litre container at a depth of 40 to 80 cm to cover one square metre of surface.
