Medium-sized water lily with pads from 12 to 15 cm in diameter, and 10 cm flowers.
This lily was a very popular wholesale export during the first half of the twentieth century due to its ease of cultivation and profusion of blooms. It was named after the head of the Jardin Botanique de Lyon, René Gérard, who had close ties to Latour-Marliac, and who amassed an impressive collection of water lilies that exists to this day.
Plant one per 14 or 20 litre planting container at a depth of 20 to 60 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
