'Ellisiana' was the first red water lily created by Latour-Marliac not to carry his name.
It followed 'Marliacea Ignea,' 'M. Rubra Punctata,' and 'M. Flammea.' It's one of the easiest to grow of all the early reds, which is why it was widely exported. It is relatively small, and flowers profusely.
Plant one per 14 litre planting container at a depth of 20 to 60 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
