(Latour-Marliac, c. 1880)
ODSULHUREA
Medium-sized water lily with pads from 12 to 15 cm in diameter, and 10 cm flowers.
Classic variety. After 'Chromatella' came 'Sulfurea,' a hardy yellow that has been almost as successful as its forebear. The flowers on 'Sulphurea' are smaller and less cup-shaped than on 'Chromatella.' They also rise out of the water a bit, sitting atop red stems. Vigorous lily that is easy to care for and a profuse bloomer.
Plant one per 14 or 20 litre Latour-Marliac planting container at a depth of 20 to 60 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
