Classic variety. 'Ignea', one of Latour-Marliac's earliest reds, was featured alongside 'M. Chromatella' and 'M. Carnea', before its official introduction, at the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. It's a profuse bloomer and is seldom found outside of Le Temple-sur-Lot.
Plant one per 14 or 20 litre Latour-Marliac planting container at a depth of 20 to 60 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
