Nelumbo 'Bonny' is a small lotus with simple flowers of a classic pink. It measures 30 to 50 cm with leaves of 10 to 15 cm and flowers of 10 cm. Planting tips for lotus can be found here.

The lotus is neither a tropical plant, nor a complex plant. On the contrary, it is as frost resistant as the hardy water lily, and even more vigorous. To succeed with this lotus, it is sufficient to plant it in a sunny place, under 10 to 20 cm of water and in a voluminous planting container with a fertilizer rich in nitrogen.

You can plant the miniature lotus in one of our 20L pots without any problem for 2 to 3 years. After that you will have to split it and replant the rhizomes, or transfer the root ball to a larger container, like our 150L lotus pots
