In 10 to 25 cm of water, plant in clumps of at least three for a good effect the first year. Pontederias are easy to grow and vigorous. This one produces pink-violet flowers in July and August. They are also efficient at filtering polluted water. 'Pink Pons' is the same size as Cordata, but has pinkish violet, rather than blue, flowers.
